Sony plugs hi-def screen into PSOne

Sony Computer Entertainment has released an LCD screen add-on for the PSOne, the slimmed-down version of its original PlayStation game console. The $129 high-definition screen plugs into the back of the console and allows players to take their game-playing on the road, without the need to hook up to a TV set.

Several third-party manufacturers have already released similar add-ons, all of which contribute to Sony's plans of turning the PSOne into a portable game machine. A power adapter that plugs into a car's cigarette lighter is set to come out early next year. --David Becker, Special to ZDNet News
