Sony has apparently recognized the need for a PlayStation 3 with a larger hard drive and a lower price. The slightly more affordable price is thanks to the removal of the Move controller from the bundle.

According to the official PlayStation Blog, the standalone 320GB systems have started shipping to retailers today. Each one will retail for $349.99, compared to the $400 bundle that consists of the 320GB PS3, a Move controller, a PlayStation Eye camera and a couple of games on Blu-ray. That bundle sure sounds like a better deal than just the console for $50, but it depends how much you want to spend this holiday season.

If you're a serious gamer, then maybe you do need the larger hard drive. But if you don't and you'd like something a little friendlier to the budget, there is a 160GB PS3 Slim bundle for $299. Also, PlayStation Move controllers are available separately for $99.99 in case you change your mind later.
