Things have been a little quiet on the Ultrabook front of late, but Sony hopes to give the laptop platform a boost with its new Vaio T Series Touch Windows 8 models. The new series, available in 13-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch flavors, was announced at CES, and has now popped up online on Best Buy, Sony, J&R Electronics, and other websites.

As you might imagine, the touchscreen versions of the T Series cost a little more than their non-touch brethren, but the base 15-inch version -- the SVT151190X -- starts at just $769.99. For that price you get a Intel Core i3-3227U Ivy Bridge CPU, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, DVD burner, and a 15.5-inch 1,920x1080 LED-backlit display. Sony's online store lets you boost the specs, or you can graduate to the $969.99 SVT15112CXS with Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 750GB hard drive; $1,149.99 SVT15115CXS with Core i7 CPU and 1TB hard drive, or the $1,399 SVT1511ACXS, which replaces the hard drive with a 256GB solid state drive and the DVD burner with a Blu-ray player.

Sony's site only offers one standard 14-inch T Series Touch -- the $899.99 SVT14126CXS that starts with a Core i5-3337U processor, 6GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, and a more pedestrian 1,366x768 touchscreen. Likewise, there's a single 13-inch model, the $799.99 SVT13134CXS, which features a Core i3 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 500GB, and the same 1,366x768 resolution in a 13.3-inch display. You can also get custom versions of either, though it doesn't appear that you can really personalize anything at the moment.

Best Buy currently offers two versions of the T Series Touch, with mixed pricing compared to the Sony site. While it offers the 15-inch SVT15115CXS for $1,099.99, or $50 less than the Sony Store, it appears to be charging $50 more for the 14-inch SVT14126CXS. In comparison, J&R's site has it for $897.99, or $2 cheaper than Sony. Oddly enough, J&R has more 13-inch and 14-inch T Series Touch models available than Sony, including versions with 128GB SSDs for $997.99. Other online stores like Fry's and B&H have these models and even more configurations listed.
