Previously sitting pretty at 13.3-inches, the Sony Vaio Y notebook series has been sized down to a more portable 11.6-inches of screen space.

There are few other specs on this machine besides the 11.6-inch WXGA widescreen LCD screen that makes Sony Vaio Y computers more travel-friendly. Weighing in at 3.2 pounds, users can get a maximum six hours of work time from the pre-installed battery, but there is also an optional L-battery to boost that number to 11.5 hours.

The Core i3-380-powered laptop also features an integrated problem prevention and solution program called "Assist," which can be brought up with the tap of a button.

Pricing hasn't been revealed yet, but it is expected to start shipping in Japan first on November 27.
