Tadpole gets into water, buys into Java
UK mobile workstation maker Tadpole Technology this morning began to make good on its recent pledge to become a fully-fledged Java solutions provider.
The company said it had agreed to buy Bristol-based Java software applications firm Systems Synthesis Limited (SSL) for about £200,000 and had won a contract to supply mobile Java solutions to UK utility Bristol Water Plc.
SSL makes the Cartesia line of Java-based enterprise GIS software called Cartesia.
Under terms of the Bristol Water contract, Tadpole will supply Java and CORBA software solutions based on thin clients.
