An Indian outsourcer is opening two development centres in the UK that will employ 350 people.

Outsourcer TCS has opened centres at Redhill in Surrey and Stirling in Scotland to develop applications for a large insurer and other customers.

The centres will be fully up and running in a couple of months and will boost TCS's 5,000-strong UK workforce.

AS Lakshmi, head of UK and Ireland at TCS, said: "We already have a strong presence and are continuing to grow our capabilities to serve our customers."

TCS also runs a large innovation centre in Peterborough.

Fellow Indian outsourcer Infosys has also announced plans to concentrate growth in Europe and the UK.

The company is predicting close to 50 percent revenue growth in Europe over the next year, above its 20 percent global forecast but in line with its European performance in recent years.

Infosys has about 3,500 employees in the UK, mainly based on-site with its customers.
