in brief Telstra today announced plans to upgrade HTC Desire customers to the 2.2 version of the Android operating system, known as Froyo. It also announced the debut date for the Samsung Galaxy S.
The telco also said that HTC Desire customers can expect to be updated to Froyo software over the air or via USB connection within the next month, thanking customers for their patience while it tested the Android update.
"Telstra always puts its firmware deployments through rigorous network and performance testing — and this takes a little bit of time ... It's also important to note that HTC works with hundreds of operators around the world, and Telstra, like those operators, has had to secure a place in HTC's software deployment schedule."
