Telstra walked up to the podium half a dozen times at the 2012 Frost & Sullivan Excellence Awards held in Sydney last night.

Categories that the telco took out awards for were broadband service provider, data communications service provider, hosted contact centre service provider, mobile service provider, unified communications services vendor, and service provider of the year. The awards come on the back 12 months that saw Telstra become the subject of fewer complaints to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) than in the previous year.

Telstra was the only multiple winner on the night. Other winners included Microsoft, with the unified communications vendor award; VMware, which took out cloud-enablement vendor; and Verizon Business, which picked up the managed security service provider of the year.
