ThinkFree Office - 250,000 registered users!
Congratulations to the good folks at ThinkFree who announced today that they have now registered 250,000 users in their online community. The stats on this community are mighty impressive. According to the announcement today, the ThinkFree Online community:
- Accounts for 228,000 unique page views
- Stores over 654,000 files totaling 189 GB of data
- Accounts for just under 100,000 unique visitors, of which over half stay longer than 10 minutes and roughly one quarter return day after day
- Shares 2,000 documents
- Uploads or creates 60,000-80,000 new files

"The ThinkFree community is globally diverse, with users from more than 200 countries, including Mauritania, Anguilla, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. The greatest number of users come from five regions: the United States, South Korea, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Canada.
ThinkFree has plans to upgrade its Doc Exchange, a library of files published by ThinkFree Online members. Many of these improvements were developed in response to feedback received from ThinkFree users. "
I've long been impressed with the approach this company has taken to provide a compelling alternative to client-based office tools. ThinkFree Office is available in two online flavors – a light JavaScript and AJAX version and fully featured Java version, as a portable application suite that can be carried around on a USB Flash drive, and in a licensed server edition for organizations that wish to host their own implementation.
