This Monday is Valentine's Day, the same day that Dubai-based mobile handset maker i-mate will show its two newly announced GSM/GPRS (Global System for Mobile Communications/General Packet Radio Service) Wi-Fi handsets.

The handsets come pre-loaded with Skype software. Skype says the i-mate PDA2K and PDA2 are the first two such handsets to come pre-loaded with Skype.

Pricing will be announced this Monday at a press briefing aboard i-mate's corporate yacht in Cannes. The resort on the French Riviera is the site of the 2005 3GSM World Congress.

Talk about picking your spots! Sure beats the press room!
