TiVo Premiere app for iPad announced as 'ultimate remote control'

Summary:If you own both an iPad and a TiVo Premiere box, then the upcoming TiVo app for the iPad will be the perfect mobile application for you.

If you own both an iPad and a TiVo Premiere box, then the upcoming TiVo app for the iPad will be the perfect mobile application for you.

Dubbed as the "ultimate remote control," the app brings the colorful and graphics-heavy TiVo Premiere user interface to your 9.7-inch touch screen. Some of the features to be found on this app include remote DVR scheduling and management, access to full TV program guides, getting recommendations, sharing comments via Facebook and Twitter, and controlling recordings (such as fast forwarding) with a finger tap or swipe.

One of the more unique (and useful) features is the Search function, which allows users to search for TV shows, movies, actors and directors on Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand and other services to be announced later.

The TiVo app will be available for free to download from the iTunes App Store in the "coming weeks." Unfortunately, it looks like this one will only be compatible with the iPad, not the iPhone nor the iPod touch. For a hands-on look at the TiVo app for the iPad, check out the following promo video:
