Travelocity launches iPhone-optimized travel site

I recently mentioned that Pocket Express released an iPhone-optimized site for traveler information. I guess it really does pour when it rains as Travelocity also just announced the availability of their iPhone and iPod Touch optimized mobile travel site. Simply point your Safari mobile browser to iphone.travelocity.com to access this new site.

If you have saved trips with Travelocity then you can simply tap My Trips to see your itinerary and details. Tapping Flight Information takes you to a page showing flight schedule, gates & times, and security wait times options. The gates & times seemed quite handy with options to view maps, weather (using weather underground), TSA wait times, and flight tracking information for departure and destination cities. The security wait times did not seem to produce any results so this functionality may still be a bit buggy at launch.

As a frequent traveler, I am very pleased to see more and more of these highly functional iPhone-optimized sites since I usually travel with my iPhone for at least the video playback functionality
