Vodafone and O2 have announced plans to carry Apple's iPad tablet in the UK from the end of May.

In almost identical statements sent out on Wednesday afternoon — indicating that Apple is now writing its operators' press releases for them — O2 and Vodafone said they "will offer dedicated iPad price plans for all models from the end of May" in the UK.

Vodafone will also carry the device in Australia, Germany, Italy and Spain. Nobody has announced their pricing yet, as that will only come out on 10 May — the iPad was due for an end-of-April release in the UK, but Apple said on Wednesday that they were putting the launch back by a month.

ZDNet UK expects T-Mobile to also announce its iPad carriership on Wednesday afternoon. Orange is looking a bit more iffy, while 3 and Tesco Mobile have confirmed they won't be carrying the device for now.

UPDATE: Orange is in. Same wording again (!), plus they will also be carrying it in France, Spain and Switzerland.

UPDATE 2: T-Mobile is out for now. From a spokesperson: "Discussions continue between the relevant parties regarding the distribution of Apple and T-Mobile UK's products and services. Updates will be provided as and when it is pertinent to do so."
