John Carroll on WPF and .NET 3.0, Adobe wins and Emmy and I discover the 'Mono' project which aims to bring .NET applications to multiple platforms.
Written by Ryan Stewart, Contributor

Sorry I'm late with this today, I had a late night and didn't get it out. Just a few quick things this morning:

  • My fellow ZDNet blogger, John Carroll, has a good post about .NET 3.0 and Windows Presentation Foundation. He talks about he APIs, and gives a good perspective on what it is like for people just starting to look at WPF.
  • Flash Video won an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. You know you've had an impact on technology when it gets you an Emmy. Congrats to Adobe. I wonder who gets to keep the statue.
  • One of my commentors, Joe1972 pointed out Mono which is a Novell initiative to bring .NET client and server applications to a variety of platforms. If the new deal means that this project will see a lot of support it could have HUGE ramifications for Windows Presentation Foundation (because WPF runs on .NET 3.0).
