The rumor mill has launched the "Verizon getting the iPhone" buzz again. This time it was apparently launched out of a Bloomberg article. As always, Verizon and Apple aren't commenting, and the sources with the info don't want to be named.
I have a hard time believing that Verizon is going to get the iPhone. Here's why:
1. Apple continues to report record breaking numbers of sales on the AT&T network, despite the constant complaints of the quality of the network. This leads me to believe that Apple will hold on to its exclusivity for a while longer.
2. Verizon and Google are very tight right now, with even more Android devices coming. Why would Verizon want Apple on board when it has a great partner like Google cranking out new phones and innovations at a record pace?
3. If Verizon was going to get an iPhone at all, it wouldn't be until its LTE network was up and running. The company plans to have it in about 30 markets by end of year, which would put handsets available on the network in mid-2011 or so.
We'll see what happens, but my guess is that it's just a rumor at this stage. If it's not, would you pick one up? Sam Diaz has put together a
