Warning for Iomega Jaz users
A risk of electrocution has prompted storage company Iomega to recall approximately 60,000 power supply units it was announced last week.
The danger came after Cortech Systems, one of Iomega's suppliers, used an unapproved plastic coating for units with the Jaz 1 GB and Jaz 2 GB disk drives. An Iomega statement read: "While we are not aware of any customers who have been harmed by an affected power supply unit, our primary concern is always the safety of our customers and end-users."
Customers with affected units will be sent replacements within two weeks on return of the defective units according to the company. Packaging and return postage will be provided.
