Webroot Software, the Boulder, Colo.-based company that is transforming itself from antispyware specialist to all-round security provider, has made several executive changes. The company on Wednesday appointed Peter Watkins, a former McAfee chief operating officer, to the CEO post. Also, Chris Benham, ex-marketing vice president at Symantec, now has that title at Webroot, the company said in a statement.

Watkins replaces David Moll at the helm of Webroot. Moll will assume the position of vice chairman, the company said. Webroot, known for its antispyware software, has been adding to its core technology to become more of a security generalist, albeit mostly through partnerships.
