Today's lineup includes Final Cut Pro 2.0.2 updater; a new ColorSync component to Adobe's PageMaker 7.0; and NetDICT 2.5.

Apple has put up a Final Cut Pro 2.0.2 updater (Warning: cookie-based registration required). This improves compatibility with Macintosh Manager, adds support for 32kHz audio files within 48kHz sequences, bug fixes and more.

Abode Systems Inc. has posted the PageMaker 7.0 ColorSync Component Update, which fixes a startup error in PageMaker 7.0.

MacinMind Software's Passenger 2.0 adds support for Mac OS X Server and Macintosh Manager 2 as well as for account folder migration and more to the $60 server account management and password generation software.

NetDICT 2.5 from Steve Muncy gains Carbonization. The client for querying DICT database servers is freeware.

Ignoring legal issues involving jailed Russian coders, Adobe Systems Inc. has released the Acrobat eBook Reader 2.2 for the Mac. This update to the free software for displaying eBooks includes new scrolling and panning, fitting and other features.

Brian Dunning's $39.95 ChartMaker Pro 5.0 is the latest version of the software for creating various kinds of charts out of FileMaker Pro data. No information available on what's new in Version 5.0.

Intelli Innovations has updated IntelliMerge 1.2.7, the company's e-mail merge software that supports both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. New features include custom headers, message priority options, a Record ID merge field and more.

Power On Software has shipped On Guard 3.3.5, an update to the $69.95 security software. This improves compatibility with operating systems from System 7 to Mac OS 9.1 and adds bug fixes.

Calling all developers: Apple has posted CarbonLib SDK 1.4, the latest release of the development kit for Mac OS 8.6 and later. It's free but you have to be an Apple Developer Connection member to download it.

Procreate (a spun-off branch of Corel) has shipped Painter 7.0, a new version of the venerable natural-media painting application. This adds watercolor and liquid ink brushes; better zooming; improved text handling; better compatibility with Adobe Photoshop; and more. It's $479 new with a $199 update option.

Speaking of Adobe Systems Inc., the company has updated its $549.95 Premiere 6.01 video-editing application. New features includes performance improvements, bug fixes and more.

DataViz has published Documents To Go Professional Edition 4.0, a new, $69.95 version of the tool for creating and displaying Microsoft Word and Excel files (as well as viewing PowerPoint presentations) on Palm OS devices. Version 4.0 adds the ability for building Excel spreadsheets on a Palm OS thingie and synchronization with multiple Macs.

OmniWeb 4.0.3 from the Omni Group adds Swedish, Japanese and Danish support as well as better French and German support to the Mac OS X-only Web browser.

Ed Hamrick's VueScan 7.1.8 adds support for FireWire and FireWire-to-SCSI converters within Mac OS X 10.1. It also has better support for more scanner and bug fixes. The non-denominational scanner driver is $40.

A better beta -- the Mozilla Organization has posted Mozilla 0.9.3, the latest build of the open-source Web browser. In addition to a few theme tweaks, this version tosses in bug fixes and improved stability.

ChiperSoft Systems' free SoundJam Tool 1.1 adds play/pause synchronization to the floating control for Casady & Greene's SoundJam MP.

Amar Sagoo has released his free XML Toolkit 2.0, an open-source XML source parser for various object structure. This version gets a re-entrant toolkit.

SwitchRes 2.5.2 is the latest version of the resolution-switching utility. It includes bug fixes.
