Western European IT spending up 5.4% in 2004

Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) led a 5.4% rise in IT spending in Western Europe in 2004, according to IDC. IT spending in the Western European business sector generally is expected to have grown by 3.4% in 2004, while SMEs are expected to account for around 53% of 2004 total IT spending in Western Europe.
