Wireless LANs -- is there compatibility in sight?

A standards body called the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance announced Wednesday that it has developed a test to ensure compatibility between wireless LAN (local-area network) products from a number of different manufacturers. WECA says its test will ensure that consumers will be able to purchase any of a number of wireless LAN products for home networking purposes, that work together right out of the box.
