With AOL Instant Messenger and Skype already available on the iPhone, it was only a matter of time before Yahoo! Messenger strolled into the game. Announced today on the Yahoo! Messenger blog, the messaging  service allows you to instant message your friends, while offering a plethora of features.

The app has all the usual instant-messenger-suspects: emoticons, web links, and photo sharing. There's really nothing too different about Yahoo! Messenger, but if you're accustomed to using it on your computer, you'll be happy to know you can take it on the go now.

It offers a stealth setting, which lets you sign in as invisible, or change your status once you're signed on. A nice feature is the recent conversation archive, which shows your most recent conversation with each of your contacts, and lets you continue from where you left off in that conversation.

The app is free, and can be downloaded at the iTunes App Store, or through your iPhone by searching for Yahoo! Messenger. If you're a Yahoo! Messenger fan, but you don't own an iPhone or iPod touch, don't worry, it's also available for Blackberry and other mobile phones.
