ZDNet is looking for a good copy editor (or two)

ZDNet is a global news team, delivering 24/7 news coverage and analysis on the trends, technologies and opportunities that matter to IT professionals and decision makers.

We're looking for a part-time copy editor to telework 15-20 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Primary responsibilities will include assisting editors in the daily tasks of copy-editing articles and producing engaging social media posts to promote our content.

Qualifications: Candidates should have 1-3 years of professional copy editing experience, be detail-oriented, self-starting, comfortable working with content management systems, and familiar with business and/or technology news. Video production experience is a plus.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Edit articles for spelling, grammar, consistency, clarity and ZDNet house style
  • Basic fact-checking of articles
  • Coordinate with editors to keep up a constant flow of ZDNet social posts on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Document and report site bugs as needed
  • Assist with the production of article pinboxes and other site components.
