Avaya, the global provider of business collaboration and communications solutions, has recently announced the Avaya Video Collaboration Solution for IP Office designed specifically for the small and midsize business (SMB) segment.
It provides simple, affordable yet comprehensive desktop, mobile and HD room-system video collaboration capabilities.
The product delivers BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and HD room-system capabilities in an easy to deploy solution for SMBs. It features a "virtual conference room" for up to eight participants with click-to-join capabilities from any standards-based room system, desktop or mobile device.
The company notes that this solution represents an attractive option for Avaya IP Office customers and others, especially in the SMB sector, to extensively deploy business grade video with minimum requirement for IT support. It delivers rich collaborative capabilities, even on low bandwidth, that help increase productivity, enhance customer service, and lower the overall cost of doing business.
Commenting on the launch, Paul Chen, director for products and solutions in Asia-Pacific at Avaya said: "In a recent third-party report IP Office was recognized as the leading unifed communications solution for small and mid-sized enterprises based on TCO, maintenance requirements and ease of deployment."
Video collaboration solutions like Avaya's help SMBs to enhance customer service with rich face-to-face interactions and maintain strong connections to remote and mobile employees. According to an IDC report--SMB Telephony: Current/Planned Telecom Resource Use, 2013--30 percent of midsized firms are currently using some videoconferencing resources beyond simple Web cams.
The report indicates that the number of SMBs using video collaboration is clearly set for significant growth, and could potentially double in the next 12 months.
