Hot on the heels of my post last night about the fake iTunes 9 screenshots comes this beauty.

MacRumors forums user Gonewiththewind posted two photos which he purports to be of the fabled Apple tablet (a.k.a. iPad). They're obviously fake, I mean, look at that shady drop shadow around the top (?) of the "Wallpaper" widget. And don't get me started on the text alignment in the Search and Directions buttons on the bottom of the "Maps" widget.

And widgets? Seriously?

What's your take?

  • You can see the finger deform the LCD on the first push

I hope that's not real, because my XT tablet LCD won't deform (producing that rainbow effect) no matter how hard I press it.

  • Such horrible, horrible, fail.

I've never really had an understanding when it came to
people who not only wanted to spread rumors, but would
also go as far as to be a part of it.

  • Craptastic fake, but conceptually nice.

Putting iPhone apps with hard-coded resolution into iPhone-sized windows on a larger desktop makes sense. So does having a longer "quick link" bar along the bottom of the screen for more icons. At least it is a fake with some good ideas. Kudos to the faker.

  • Impressive fake if it is...

That said, I just don't see value in a product like this...
