That madman of disassembly, a.k.a. Kodwarisan, has already unboxed and completely disassembled the new MacBook (Late-2008) that was announced yesterday.

He has posted 20 excellent pictures of everything including the easily removed hard drive (above), logic board, centrifugal fan, right down to close up shots of Nvidia and Intel chips (below) which dominate the tiny logic board.

Update: CNet's Crave TV has posted a video review of the new MBP.

  • That is SO much easier...

Than the old days. I used to repair 20-30 PowerBooks a month back in the 90's. While always easier than a typical PC Laptop, this is no worse than installing RAM on today's ThinkPads.

Finally Apple has returned to offering an accessible hard
drive! Since they dropped FireWire, the easiest option for
drive repair was lost, now at least the drive can be put into
an external 2.5" case and tested on another machine.

Often when Apple is doing well, they will off and shoot
themselves in the foot. At least this time they made sure to
    put some kevlar shoes on!
