Google TV rounds out content line-up
Google TV is on the runway and ready for lift-off with a bevy of content partners.
According to Google, its TV platform has series of content partners lined up to better compete with Apple TV. For the uninitiated, Google TV is a platform that plans to integrate your content and the Web into one experience. Google CEO Eric Schmidt has said the search giant's experience will change your viewing habits courtesy of Android, Flash, videos and chat.
We've heard that before and old couch potato habits die hard.Nevertheless, Google TV is off to a good start with content partners. Google said Turner Broadcasting, which owns CNN, TBS and TNT, will optimize is Web site for Google TV. NBC Universal will bring a CNBC app to the party. And HBO will have its HBO.Go service available. In addition, the NBA has an app.
As for movie rentals, Amazon and Netflix are on the Google TV bandwagon and there are other optimized content offerings.
Add it up and Google TV has some key partners. Now all you have to do is change your viewing habits. Will you?
