Netflix inks multi-year deal with Miramax for June launch

Summary: Netflix’s Watch Instantly catalog is about to be boosted with “several hundred” new titles thanks to a new multi-year agreement with Miramax.

Netflix’s Watch Instantly catalog is about to be boosted with “several hundred” new titles thanks to a new multi-year agreement with Miramax.

This deal marks the first time that Miramax has signed over access of its films to a digital subscription service. Starting on June 1, some of the titles that will be available to stream instantly include Kill Bill Volumes I and II, Shakespeare in LovePulp Fiction and Good Will Hunting.

The catch is that those “several hundred Miramax movies” won’t be available all at once, but rather with “dozens of titles being added on a rotating basis.” Additionally, according to the release, it looks like the Miramax library will only be available for streaming to Netflix subscribers in the United States and not Canada as well.

Netflix has been on a roll this year. During the company’s quarterly earnings conference call, Netflix execs revealed many positive figures, including the fact that Netflix is approaching having 25 million subscribers. Additionally, many media studio heads are finally realizing the value and power of having Netflix on their sides, and now Miramax has realized the opportunity as well.

However, even as the Watch Instantly library continues to grow, will it be enough for Netflix to hold off its competitors?

A formidable share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing slightly evaluation on this. And he the truth is bought me breakfast as a result of I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I really feel strongly about it and love studying extra on this topic. If attainable, as you change into experience, would you mind updating your weblog with extra particulars? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog publish! pregnancy week by week pictures
Happy to see this, I love Netflix. It's the very reason I no longer have cable. $8 a month vs $70 is a hell of a saving.

Loving Netflix

You can stream up to 6 devices per account so now I let my parents, father in law, brother use my account and they can stream at different locations! very nice!!
@Hasam1991 This is the kind of crap that drives up rates for those of us who use the service fairly. I use concurrent streaming only within my own house. People who live somewhere else can get their own subscription. I hope Netflix cracks down on this kind of abuse.

You're a douche-bag.
The old media vanguard are a bunch of dinosaurs. The writing is on the wall for optical media. CD sales are basically dead, DVD is next.
