Apple sells 2 million iPads; the top supercomputers; Facebook quitters; and software as a service negotiation questions lead today’s headlines. Get the rolling posts via TwitterRSS, or email.

Here’s a look at Tuesday June 1:

Apple sells 2 million iPads in less than 60 days. That performance comes amid Apple’s international launch of the iPad. Matthew Miller notes that iPad’s lack of Flash is a non-event. Meanwhile, a bevy of rivals are planning similar tablets based on Android. It remains to be seen if any of these competitors are up to the iPad challenge.

Ed Bott looks at Microsoft’s lost decade and does a bit of debunking.  One theme: The entire PC industry lost a decade relative to Apple and Google.

It’s China vs. the U.S. in the Supercomputer Top500 list. China’s Nebulae supercomputer is No. 2 in speed, but in theory could surge to No. 1. Most of these supercomputers are powered by Intel chips.

With software as a service gaining traction in most enterprises, Brian Sommer has 9 questions that every SaaS vendor needs to answer. Have these questions ready when you’re doing your due diligence.

Jennifer Leggio has an interesting take on Facebook’s alleged quitters.
Are these people that were going to drop their Facebook accounts just crying wolf? Meanwhile, Oliver Marks looks at your social and business life and the trust issue.

And finally, Memorial Day came and went on Monday. We thank our fallen soldiers for their service. See Robin Harris and David Gewirtz.

Good day to confirm this comment I would appreciate T h e b e s t o f Z D N e t d e l i v e r e d your website very nice to everyone Yes, Oracle is the only one with shared-disk architecture, but that is there advantage. It means you can add or remove nodes and the database lives on. In a shared nothing architecture, if you lose a node, you lose the system. I'm sure Oracle appreciates EMC highlighting their advantage.I also desire to signal in your RSS feeds. Thank you as soon as once again and maintain up the great operate Awesome post! Thank you very much || thanks for nice content this is really benefit to me.
