What do Monster Technology's Paul Neilson (CIO), Dunkin' Brands' Rick Broughton, (Director, IT Strategy), MIT's Jerry Grochow (VP of IS), COX New England's Brad Shipp (Vice President for Information Technology), Accenture's Bob Suh (Chief Technology Strategist), Hyperion's Howard Dresner (Chief Strategy Officer), Red Hat's Brian Stevens (CTO), HP's Russ Daniels (Vice President and CTO), ESPN's Anthony Bailey (VP Media Applications), The Boston Red Sox' Steve Conley (Director of IT), NASCAR's Brad Lovell (Managing Director of IT) and the Boston Bruins' Lorraine Spadaro (CIO, VP of Technology) all have in common? They as well as of host of other IT notables were panelists and speakers at this past June's edition of MIT's CIO Symposium and we have all the audio right here on ZDNet.

The sessions which ranged from The Habits of Highly Effective IT Leaders to The Changing Role of the CIO to The Future Of IT and Sports: Information flow from the athlete's body to the armchair quarterback were chock full of rich commentary and comment. Links to the audio for each session can be found below.

I, for one, love the idea of that real time information for the armchair quaterback. This year, while watching the Tour de France on TV, the commentators routinely gave viewers real time heart rate information of certain cyclists to get an idea of how close those cyclists -- particularly the ones in the midst of a breakaway from the main field (pack) -- were to "bonking" (what happens when you're near your maximum heart rate and the lactic acid is flooding your muscles so badly that you can barely continue). The IT to make that work must have been one slick setup.
