Vinnie Mirchandani speculates that Oracle's Fusion applications will be delay through 2009 at the earliest. The first phase of Fusion applications was slated for next year. Vinnie correctly points out that Oracle's timetable was more of a "moonshot" than a pinpoint-accurate launch window when it was announced in January 2006. Vinnie also suggested that John Wookey, senior vice president of Oracle's Applications Product Strategy and Development, may be gone from the team. At Oracle OpenWorld next month , or before, we'll see what is in store for Fusion, and how BEA might fit into the picture if the deal goes through.
