It appears that the record $1.3 billion judgment that a federal jury awarded to Oracle in its copyright infringement battle with SAP last month isn't enough. The company is asking for an additional $211.7 million in interest, according to a San Jose Mercury News report posted late Friday afternoon.

The interest would "fully compensate" the company for the software licenses that SAP should have paid for in 2005 and 2006, the company said in its court filing on Friday.

SAP, which is still considering an appeal to the verdict, told Dow Jones:

We don't believe that Oracle is entitled to any additional compensation beyond the final judgment in this case... We are, of course, disappointed by this verdict and will consider all available options. This will unfortunately be a prolonged process and we continue to hope that the matter can be resolved appropriately without more years of litigation.

  • Give them hell Oracle

SAP purposely STOLE code from Oracle. I have no issue with Oracle giving them hell for stealing.

In fact, I would not be surprised if soon we found out that they stole code from many other companies and/or products. After all, they were very quick to plead guilty in order to stop the discovery process.
