UPDATE 2: The contest is now closed. Congratulations to HollywoodDog and sriramkrishnan! (Don't forget to check Between the Lines this Wednesday for the next question and another chance to win one of two free bags!)

Last week, we gave away our second pair of custom ZDNet-branded Timbuk2 Commute 2.0 laptop bags in honor of our 20th anniversary.

This week, we're doing it yet again. Because when you're an Internet adult like we are, you do what you want!

(For those counting at home, this is week No. 3 of six total weeks of ZDNet-laptop-bag-giveaway fun.)

The bags are sized medium and are black with a gray stripe down the middle, like the photo above. They're TSA compliant and, in a special limited edition twist, customized with ZDNet's iconic red diamond logo.

You can't get them anywhere else. Period.

(Why Timbuk2? We'll say it again: like us, they're based in San Francisco. Like us, they're in their early twenties. And like us, they're rugged as hell and perfect for tech.)

What you need to do to win this week*:

  1. Check the site Wednesday morning for a post about the contest. If you're reading this, you're already here. The third round begins right now, in this blog post.
  2. Respond to the question below by leaving a comment in the TalkBack section below the post. (Don't delay: the contest is open for 48 hours, and ends tomorrow at 11:59 ET. Standard ZDNet contest rules apply; see below for details.)
  3. That's it! We'll pick winners based on the responses we deem most creative, funny or interesting.

We'll announce the winners (pending verification) the following Monday.

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: Who is your favorite ZDNet blogger -- and why? And...go!

Good luck!

*NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. • Edward Bott; despite there is, of course, POV slant (he is real person, ...

    ... after all), his articles are usually really well equipped with arguments and research -- no matter whether anyone (including myself) agrees with conclusions or not.

    Jason Perlow writes very witty, funny articles. I especially like when he is angry. ;))

      @DeRSSS
      Ed is the best, hands down. You should have thought of a survey without an obvious answer.

        @mrlinux - :::looks up and checks title of blog - yup, it says "favorite" blogger (not worst):::

        One's "favorite" blogger is a personal preference/opinion - doesn't make it wrong. So please - Let's not turn this "favorite" blogger discussion into a flame war.

      • Lemme guess - you think Ed Bott's the worst beccause...

        @mrlinux
        ... he doesn't kiss Richard Stahlman's backside. Am I right? Did I win something?

      • You DO realize how the voting is going to break down, don't you?

        @tcavadias
        It'll break down by way of which OS the poster is into. The Linux geeks will vote for SJVN, the Microsoft fans will vote for Ed or Mary Jo and the Mac heads will go with Jason or the other guy.

        There won't be many objective voters who can look beyond party lines.

      @DeRSSS
      Ed and Matt are the best authors. I can't really select one of those two. Matt is gadget geek and guru and Ed is very talented and highly tech savvy.

    Mary Jo Foley, because she is the only person other than Paul Thurrott I trust for my Windows news

  • Bring back George Ou. Things are as dull as dishwater around here.

    Jason Perlow knows baseball but .... ok Jason Perlow it is.
    He mixes it up pretty good. Nobody owns him.

      @Dietrich T. Schmitz, *~* Your Linux Advocate

Yep. May not have agreed with George on everything, but he was certainly a tech expert - perhaps Jason could take some night classes

      However I'd vote for Ed, closely followed by Mary and then Larry, the rest are just click bait.

    Jason Perlow definitely. He's biased in that he only supports good products. He doesn't care if it's from Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc, as long as it does the job that he wants it to do.
