  • REST assured it is not about the soup....

Always wonder why people think that buying a new toy is a sign of maturity. Having seen the phenomena recently I can give you the same advise, SOA is about the Business not the infrastructure.... It is easy to buy and install a new solution, but what problem are they trying to solve? So step one on the maturity scale is to take a long hard look at your business processes and select the business functions that could be of more value. Among everything that is likely to change you are looking for the things that already are mature and stable. Because services, and especially their definitions, are about stability and only how you use them is flexible. Once you have done that you will find that actual implementation of services does not require a lot of infrastructure, it is a new way of thinking not just new tools.
