The last dojo vid was a waste of time telling me about tools I already knew about.

  • Video and Text Please

My employer blocks web video clips - it would be great if ZDNet bloggers included even just a brief text summary of the main points along with the video.

At least Larry's provided a link to the original article (or is this a ploy to generate more traffic??) ;)

Video is such a slow medium for conveying information. Lets have some text with the information.

Agree - text please! A very long-winded way to find out a mix of things I've already looked at and rejected as either being of no interest to me or I already have.

  • Beware some of the addons...

"Faster Firefox": After trying this addon I found that pages never seemed to fully load! Waiting... Waiting... across the board. I uninstalled it and problem fixed!

Page capture? I use "Fireshot Pro"! There's a free version also. Full page, screen view only, add pointers, captions, boxes, comments, whatever. The Pro version costs about 20 bucks. I use it for "online banking" page saves that is a life saver when the online bank forgets a transfer or credit card payment made online and BOOM, a $30.00 fee! Not gonna happen when they're confronted with a "png" full screen capture of the banks confirmation box with your details that they misplaced! Works with Ie. also.

"Snagit"? Nice software but cumbersome! Great for non-browser operations also.

Slow info for a fast browser. :-)

Thank-you Bill. I actually use a couple of the add-ons suggested (No Script & Colorful Tabs). I was also thinking about FasterFox, but after the explanation given here, I've decided against it.

BTW - One of my Favorites happens to be AdBlock Plus (No more unwanted ads clogging up my screen - usually anyway).
