MSI announces two 15.4-inch gaming laptops

Summary: MSI is better-known for netbooks and nettops, but the Taiwan-based company announced two gaming laptops today. Both have the identical design and 15.4-inch widescreen display, but they have different components.

These days MSI is better-known for netbooks and nettops, but the Taiwan-based company announced two gaming laptops today. Both have the identical design and 15.4-inch widescreen (16:10) display, but they have different components. The GX623 uses an Intel processor and AMD's ATI Radeon HD 4000 series graphics; the GX633 uses an AMD processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce GPU.

Like MSI's other GX series gaming laptops, the new models have an ECO button for switching between different modes (Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office and Turbo Battery modes), and when plugged in, a Turbo button that the company claims boost the speed of the CPU.

  • 160/250/320/500GB hard drive
