CRM Idol 2012: Last Two Days To Take Your Shot

I'm not sure why I'm writing this because any small company in the CRM world or social tools world or anything that is customer facing world that hasn't heard of CRM Idol or taken advantage of it by applying really shouldn't be getting the benefit of the doubt.I'm not trying to be harsh, lord knows, because we're doing everything we can to get companies to apply so that they can hopefully take advantage of the CRM Idol competition.

I'm not sure why I'm writing this because any small company in the CRM world or social tools world or anything that is customer facing world that hasn't heard of CRM Idol or taken advantage of it by applying really shouldn't be getting the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not trying to be harsh, lord knows, because we're doing everything we can to get companies to apply so that they can hopefully take advantage of the CRM Idol competition.  But it has had VAST publicity and has been in the CRM and social channels AND has had a longer application time than last year.  Meaning every opportunity has been given to small emerging companies that are looking for:

  1. Visibility via free marketing, a public review by leading influencers, etc.
  2. Direct access to influencers, analysts, press
  3. Mentoring and advice from industry leading well-connected experts for free
  4. Possible venture capital and dozens of other prizes
  5. Participation in a community of like minded companies and the influencers

Think about this.  Three of the companies that participated last year have been acquired.  Several others have told us how it changed their companies forever.

Yet, I think, that there are still hundreds of companies out there, an incredible number who try to get me to talk to their CEO or someone else they think I should speak with, who can reach me through the contest - as well as the others they attempt to reach via PR emails - who haven't submitted for being in the competition.   Yet they still send me the emails.

Wow.

Look folks. You have two more days. Today and tomorrow. If I were a small emerging CRMish company who fits the criteria that are on the site at crmidol.com, I'd get my butt in gear and apply by 6pm PST May 25 so that I could potentially qualify.  If not, the chance goes away.  And you'll send me the emails again and I'll read them and I'll choose the couple I do choose per week of the 30-50 that make sense to me and read them and respond.  But I might be busy...talking to the companies in CRM Idol and I'll have even less time to consider it than usual.

I don't mean to be arrogant and I apologize if I come off that way. But this is the best chance you'll ever have to reach all those people you're already trying to reach.  So please take advantage of it.  Go to the CRM Idol 2012 website and download the application; fill it out and get it in by Friday, May 25 at 6pm PST.  It's a truly wise decision and might even make your future.
