Angry Birds landing on Facebook next month

By | March 6, 2011, 9:33am PST

Summary: The popular Angry Birds game is coming to Facebook. It will leverage the social network’s features and be much more “collaborative.”

Angry Birds will be landing on Facebook next month. The Facebook edition will be more “collaborative” than other versions of the game, according to develop-online:

On Facebook, “there will be completely new aspects to it that just haven’t been experienced in any other platform,” said studio boss Mikael Hed, who confirms that due to the social site’s ‘collaborative nature’, “the pigs will have a more prominent role”.

Rovio, the game’s developer, wants you to Like the game on Facebook so that you can “be the first to hear the news” and “gain access to exclusive content.” The Facebook Page already has over 1 million Facebook Likes.

The Finnish developer will also be releasing a special version of Angry Birds with a tie-in to the upcoming movie Rio, which hits theatres on April 8, 2011 in the UK and on April 15, 2011 in the US. A Facebook wall post from the company doesn’t give much away: “Angry Birds Rio release is getting closer, and we’re getting so excited we could burst - with anger! No, with excitement! Sign up for the Angry Birds Newsletter now to learn more about Angry Birds Rio and get the news about the release first! CA-CAW!”

The Angry Birds franchise is growing very quickly with millions of downloads across many flavors of the original game. US chat show Conan O’brien recently played a real-life Angry Birds game on his show. You can watch the clip on his website.

It means you can add or remove nodes and the database lives on. In a shared nothing architecture, if you lose a node, you lose the system. I'm sure Oracle appreciates EMC highlighting their advantage.I also desire to signal in your RSS feeds. Thank you as soon as once again and maintain up the great operate Awesome post! I won't be using Angry Birds on any platform. Rovio has shown they don't care about their customers as seen by the WP7 release when they had a hissy fit. They also said they wouldn't develop for WP7 and now we have them releasing it once they figured out WP7 was going to be a platform that could make money.

THIS IS A BAD IDEA.

The genius of the game notwithstanding, have the Facebook gods taken into account how many enterprise-class LANs will now choose to finally block the Facebook.com domain?

I think not.
