Facebook Comments Box used by more than 300,000 websites

Summary: The Facebook Comments Box plugin is now used by more than 300,000 websites. Facebook has added two new features: boosting comments and chronological sort.

SHARE:

Facebook has announced a new milestone for its Comments Box plugin: more than 300,000 websites have implemented it so far. That's an impressive number for a product that has been available for about four months: the Comments Box was released on March 1, 2011. By April 12, 2011, it was being used on more than 50,000 sites. We can thus surmise that adoption has recently accelerated and the plugin is being accepted as a viable comments solution.

In response to partner feedback, Facebook has added two new features to make it easier for moderators and users to control how comments are displayed: boosting comments and chronological sort.

Boosting comments allows moderators to ensure that high-quality comments appear at the top of the Comments Box. This feature is particularly useful for website owners that want to highlight one or more particularly interesting comments in response to an article or editorial to help spark an interesting conversation.

Chronological sort allows users to rearrange comments to show the most recent conversations first. This feature is particularly useful for readers who want to experience commentary in real-time, especially for viewing the latest comments on an event that is being streamed live.

As you can see in the screenshot above, when you click on the downward facing arrow on the Comments Box plugin, you now see three sorting options: Chronological, Reverse Chronological, Social Ranking. The first two are straightforward, while the last one puts the comments by users with lots of Likes and Boosts in other threads at the top.

This great blog is very interesting and enjoyable to read. I am a big fan of the subjects discussed. I also enjoy reading the comments, but notice that a lot of people should stay on topic to try and add value to the original blog post. I would also encourage everyone to bookmark this page to your favorite service to help spread the word. It's almost as good as mightystudents.com review

  • I hate the Facebook Comments Box...

I really hate the Facebook Comments Box, and I have stopped posting to some web sites because they have gone with it.

I don't want to open up my life to everyone reading the newspaper site.

The plugin can now publish a full news feed story with an image dissertation when users post comments, and users can log in using their Hotmail account.
These distribution, flexibility, and access updates significantly increase the plugin???s appeal, and should lead to more assignment installs on top of the 50,000 websites that have already integrated it.

Superb website you have here but I was curious if you knew of any user discussion forums that cover the same topics talked about in this article? I'd really love to be a part of online community where I can get opinions from other experienced people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thank you! Frigidaire FGGF3054KB

Comments can now be sorted in three ways: besides the reverse chronological sort option, you can now also have the comments sorted chronologically or by their social ranking, which will take into account likes and comments from other users. To choose an option, click the arrow next to the number of comments in the box.
fire pit bowl

It?s nearly impossible in this day and age not to know about Facebook. Facebook is a social network site that started out strictly for college students and was available by invitation only. Now, it is a cultural phenomenon stretching across the globe. With more worldwide users than MySpace, Facebook has taken hold as undisputable leader amongst social networking sites.

The network is made up of lakhs of separate networks based around schools, businesses and regions. Although registration is now open to the public, the site still caters to a college and high school demographic focusing on networking through groups and social activism.Rolex watches prices
