Barnes & Noble boasts Nook as biggest 'bestseller' in company history

Not to be outdone by Amazon, Barnes & Noble is now touting its Nook line of e-book readers as its "biggest bestseller ever" in company history.

Amazon recently boasted the third-generation Kindle as its own bestselling product in company history. But this time we get some sort of idea on the numbers. It ranges in the "millions" for Barnes & Noble's Nook.

E-book readers have certainly risen in popularity with the huge price cuts last summer, but the $249 price point on the Nook Color didn't seem to stop too many people. The 7-inch colorized e-reader was the top selling product during the holiday season. How many of those were gifts for others or for the buyers themselves remains a mystery...
