Dell is continuing to roll out data center solutions focused on management and business-related operations, great and small. Most notably, the Texas-based tech company has introduced the Dell EqualLogic and PowerVault storage array platforms.

Comprised of the PS6000XVS (pictured above) and PS6010XVS models, the EqualLogic series is runs on the new aptly-named EqualLogic 5.0 firmware, which should save big time on copy process traffic - at least 75% less on CPU utilization and over 95% less of SAN network traffic. Essentially, Dell has developed the EqualLogic systems by taking "the best features from both SAS and SSD drives," packing them into one casing for improved performance.

Then for small and medium sized businesses in need of a new virtualization platform, there are the new Dell PowerVault MD3200 and PowerVault MD3200i storage arrays. The MD3200 series promises at least double the performance, scalability and host support from previous similar products, while maintaining an affordable edge. As to what that price might be (and if you want to take advantage of any of these data center solutions), you'll have to make contact with Dell PartnerDirect to set things up.

The Dell PowerVault MD3200 and MD3200i will be ready by some time next week. While the EqualLogic 5.0 firmware is available now, the EqualLogic PS6000XVS and PS6010XVS won't be seen until early August.
