The Dell Streak has gotten more affordable, but the lower price comes with a wait time.

Dell has dropped the price of the carbon black 16GB Streak to $399.99. That price doesn't require the signing of a binding agreement with a wireless provider, but the cheaper Streaks won't start shipping until January 10. Think you can wait that long?

If you don't mind signing up for a two-year service contract with AT&T, you can still get this same version of the Dell Streak for $99.99 over at Best Buy.

  • Too bad is crapware

The Streak is just crapware from Dell. Even at $400 unlocked, it is still expensive for the low quality junk you get with a barely usable battery life.

Either I'm too freekin' old, or just dense. I just don't get the point of the streak. Looks like an over-sized smart phone, but isn't, too damn small for use as a tablet, and way too expensive (with or without a contract) to consider it in any way as a contender.
