Kindle news is everywhere today. Amazon is wrapping up the day with a new version of Kindle for Android tailored for tablet computers running Honeycomb.
The much more graphically-heavy app has a revamped layout not just for e-books from the Kindle store, but also an improved look for reading digital magazines and newspapers. The updated Android app maximizes the space available on tablets, which are typically larger (and obviously more colorful) than the 7.5-inch, monochrome e-ink display on the Kindle.
Additional new features include the ability to pause and resume downloads at anytime, and an enhanced search function with a built-in dictionary supporting over 250,000 definitions.
And let’s not forget what Amazon is best known for (even more than the Kindle): online shopping. Thus, this redesign includes a “seamless integrated shopping experience” with customer reviews and personalized recommendations.
Available from Amazon Appstore for Android or Android Market, the free Kindle for Android app (along with versions for other several platforms) is ready to download.
