After being announced last month, the Lenovo ThinkPad L series laptops have gone on sale - with a lower starting price than previously mentioned.

Even though the price tags were originally set at $649, the 14-inch L412 and 15.6-inch L512 (the only two in the ThinkPad L series at the moment) are now both starting at $599. Plus, there's free shipping! Hooray! No telling how long this low price will last, so if you're interested in these Lenovo laptops, you better jump on the opportunity.

Just for review, Lenovo has promised that these two new tough notebooks are eco-friendly machines that are 40% more energy-efficient than previous ThinkPads. Both the L412 and L512 boast LED back-lit displays, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 500GB of hard drive space and a battery that should last up to eight hours after a full charge. The major difference between these two machines is the screen size.

Given that there is room for customization, pricing could vary depending on what you pick.
