LG debuts 37-inch LCD panel with 'world’s thinnest' bezel

Summary: LG has unveiled a 37-inch LCD panel, boasting that the display sports the world’s slimmest bezel.

There was a time when all gadgets needed to be ultra-small to be cool. That might still be the case for some products, but now it is really all about being slim, as evident by the 37-inch LCD panel with what LG dubs as the world's thinnest bezel.

Intended to be an outdoor billboard for digital advertisements, the LG display sports 2.5mm (0.1 inches) of bezel on the bottom and right sides, 1.5mm (0.06 inches) on the top and left sides, leaving a gap of 4mm (0.16 inches).

This probably won't have a big impact on the picture quality, but it certainly provides a different aesthetic and should be more friendly for advertising on walls in various public spaces. However, don't expect to see this in the subway just yet as it is still slated to appear at an exhibition this month in Chiba, Japan.

  • Small Bezels Matter To Me.

It's not all about aesthetics or screen walls - I have a limited space to fit my telly in and I want as big a screen as possible. I bought a Philips which does the job nicely; bezel size was a major factor in my choice.
