Netflix might be coming to the iPhone

Netflix is testing out the waters for another platform: the iPhone. The online rental powerhouse recently sent out a survey to its subscribers seeing how much interest there actually is for such an endeavor.

According to TechCrunch, the potential Netflix app would allow subscribers to stream "movies & TV episodes on their iPhone." And that would be without any commercials or trailers prefacing the videos. Should the app come to fruition, it would most likely only work via Wi-Fi, unless AT&T warms up to Netflix like they did with Sling Media.

I'm curious if Netflix would charge for the app. Sling charges $30 for the SlingPlayer for the iPhone/iPod Touch app. But that's a one-time fee, just like the SlingBox. Netflix says that the materials watched would be included in the monthly subscription fee, but maybe they'll want to make a bit of extra cash by charging a few bucks for the program itself. I'm pretty sure some Netflix users would oblige, albeit begrudgingly.

So here's a little survey of our own. iPhone owners, would you want such an app on your smartphone and how much would you be willing to pay for it - if at all?
