Nintendo's limited edition Zelda bundle includes gold Wii-mote, $69.99

Celebrate Link's 25th with a Triforce-powered gold Wii-mote, CD sampler of the Zelda franchise's soundtrack, and of course The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Wii this holiday season.

As a throwback to the first and only days of gold-colored NES game cartridges a la The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventures of Link, Nintendo is celebrating Link's 25th with a limited edition bundle that includes a gold Wii Remote Plus controller, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii, and a sampler of Zelda franchise' orchestral soundtrack through the years on a CD -- all for $69.99.

The gold, Triforce-powered controller is well worth the extra $20 for the bundle even though the game plus CD could be had for just $49.99 as you won't be able to nab just the Wii-mote any other way. Only the "initial production" of the game (whether sold in a bundle or separately) will include the free music CD according to the press release, so you should definitely pre-order it if you're a fan of series.

Of course, the free CD is part of Nintendo's other celebration for the Zelda franchise, as The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert will be hitting Los Angeles and London in October (but still no New York date). The symphony concert will feature orchestral arrangements of the iconic music spanning the history of the franchise -- this way, you could even bring a date to geek out with other gamers. Nintendo has got your back.

This Zelda bundle and the standalone game will be hitting store shelves November 20, but don't expect it to remain there for long!

[Update: Rephrased the first paragraph to include Zelda II: The Adventures of Link as the other NES gold cartridge game.]
