It's another day which means it's time for another e-book reader release. Today it's Smart Devices with the announcement of the R7, which leaves much to the imagination.
The R7 hosts a 7-inch TFT LCD resistive touchscreen, with 16 million colors, 800 x 600 resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio. That display can also swivel thanks to the gravity sensor technology, allowing the picture to switch from portrait to landscape displays when rotating the device in your hands.
And that's about all Smart Devices has ready for the world at this moment. With e-readers popping up everywhere these days, each one really needs a hook or special quality to really draw consumers in. The screen sounds pretty basic on the R7, but it has a stylish design, so I wish there was more information about connectivity, internal storage space, applications, etc.
There's no release date or price given yet, but I wouldn't expect this to go for much, unless there is a top secret detail not revealed yet.
