Sony Ericsson will be bringing the Xperia Play (PlayStation phone) to Mobile World Congress this week, but rumors are already buzzing about which carriers it will become available with in the near future.
The above extract is taken from a spec comparison sheet (the list in full is available from Wirefly), and some how it has been determined that the Xperia Play would be launching with Verizon Wireless.
It's possible someone got ahead of themselves when typing this...or maybe not. It would be a major coup for Verizon (or AT&T) to have both the Xperia Play and the iPhone 4. But hopefully unlike the iPhone 4, the Xperia Play won't be limited to a single carrier and instead something more like how it will be in the United Kingdom. Sony Ericsson doesn't have much of a tradition with a particular U.S. wireless provider, thus it could be anyone's game at this point.
