So, the core of the 'Welcome Pack' is a selection of old games, ranging from 2007 (Super Stardust HD) to 2010 (Dead Nation). I was expecting Sony to work harder at buying back user loyalty.

Seems pretty lame to me. What do you think?

I feel that no matter what Sony does it will never be enough. That being said, it's good to have PSN back online.

• Agreed

@statuskwo5

Having been involved with this for a company I do business with there really is never "enough" short of "The event never happened in the first place." But it did happen, the damage done, and customers will either accept the token offer or not.

@morphodox18 Exactly, its really not that bad. What is the worst they could do, send you spam? Heck, two free games, I'm happy with that.

• That's not all

@morphodox18
Where have you been? What about the widely reported possibility of credit card information being lost? This is a big deal.

• Not just the data breach, but the lack of PSN

@morphodox18 It's not so much that the hackers got ahold of the information (there are laws in place to deal with that), for the Gamers/Fans of PSN, being unable to play any online games for as long as the outage lasted is the other aspect in play here. There are some games (SOCOM: Confrontation, Warhawk, etc) that are ONLY playable online. I was so bored, I actually started watching TV again...

Bought a PS2 in 2003 when I was 3000 miles from home (where my Xbox was) to play with a buddy. Yeah, it's been gathering dust since.

Bought a PS3 in 2009 (after having an Xbox 360 since 2005). It's a glorified Blue-Ray player to me, and gathers dust.

Still playing Xbox Live on an Xbox 360 and enjoying it. To each their own.

Two ways to get Sony's customers back.

1. All future COD Black Ops Map Packs FREE.
2. Netflix For One Year FREE.

That's smart, feasible, honorable, and appealing.

The rest of this rubbish is insulting to any gamer or movie watcher.

Compromise our security and then offer us second-hand games? I used to be a loyal PS3 customer but loyalty goes both ways Sonny (Sony).

I agree with Logic79 they also should make netflix app completely independent from PSN

@Logic79
As of this time Sony has lost a customer.
Second hand crap as an I'm sorry and the option to give them even more info they can't seem to protect.
Lame. :|

• stupid

@Logic79 You're an idiot, 1. They aren't even bad games, 2. Ok so what the "hackers" got your name an E-mail address and you get free stuff for it, big deal get over it. 3. Netflix has nothing at all to do with Sony so why in the hell would they offer Netflix free for one year? you say its smart and feasible for free one year of netflix? you're stupid netflix is 8 dollars a month for the Lowest plan and you want them to get it to you free for a year? lol classic..
morphodox18
• umm...really?

@morphodox18 The games may not be bad but what about the people that already have the games..it would be pretty useless if you ask me. 2. Ok yeah..hackers got our info, and uh..yeah it is a big deal. Do you know how much information you can gain from a simple email address? Yeah lets see how much you like getting off the wall phone calls or having strange people coming to your house and beating the holy crap outta you..lol just saying. 3. Netflix is completely different from Sony, but that doesn't make the guy stupid for thinking otherwise. However, his logic behind the whole thing is pretty interesting.

Me personally I think they should offer the new maps for COD (escalation) for free....thats just my opinion though.

@morphodox18

Remember the part where they may have accessed several MILLION people's credit card information?! I'd say Logic79's proposal is sound, but what I really want is free credit monitoring and identity theft protection. I mean, my account had my name, address, email, credit card, and my son's name on hsi sub-account. That's not cool.

• RE: Sony outlines PSN 'Welcome Back' pack - Hackers get your details, you get 2 old games

@Logic79 You know there are no future map packs coming, right? Especially not after already releasing two. Plus the MW3 announcement has already got the hype machine humming...

• Should have more choices...

Too bad I've already 100% both LBP and inFamous :(

• Should offer more games.

I think they should also offer a new game (InFamous 2) and some more game choices.... Uncharted 1 and 2.
