Podcast: How I made it through college (and survived)

Summary: Podcast: Three years of the iGeneration column, and some of the highlights that you, the reader, contributed most towards.

I've cheered up a bit since yesterday.

Just over three weeks ago, my college degree -- after four long years -- came to an end. Today, I celebrate my three year anniversary with ZDNet.

This podcast a rare opportunity to thank each and every one of you for reading, contributing, commenting and taking the time to add your opinion, thoughts and your own in-depth knowledge of the news and technology.

Without you, I would not have been able to pay my way through college.

It's also a chance to digress, jump on my personal soapbox and criticise the politics of wanting a decent cup of tea.

Over the three years, this column has focused on the intersection between the 'Generation Y' and the 'iGeneration'; a demographic aged between 18 and 30, and the subset of technology users who live and breathe technology, social media and an innate drive for technological change.

From here, we have discussed many game-changing events, from super-injunctions to social media, ripping into the stereotypes and deconstructing many of the myths that the older generations hold on our small but ever-increasingly important subsection of society.

This podcast looks back at the iGeneration column over the past three years and looks at the most popular articles, and some of the most significant events in technology news also.

Again, thank you to each and every one of you for reading. ZDNet is a two-way street. We can write until the cows come home, but it is you -- the reader -- that makes this community what it is.

  • Zack, It has been a good three years

Your column is interesting. Although I may sometimes disagree with you I never fail to read your writing.

Keep up the good work. And congratulations on your new degree.

Great article. Another one I found that details starting salaries in various entry level positions for college graduates and how long it will take to pay off your private student loan.
